More than Personal Training
When most people think of personal training they think about paying for one on one sessions with someone who gives them undivided attention for an hour at a time. For many people, that one hour of training isn’t enough to have a long lasting, life changing effect. For some, personal training once, twice, or three days a week, leaves them confused about what to do when they aren’t with their trainer. This kind of trainer/client relationship leaves clients feeling dependent on the trainer to make “magic” happen in the short time they have in training sessions.

When Hyam works with clients, it is a relationship that extends beyond the face to face personal training time. Whether your goal is to lose weight, increase muscle mass, or improve your performance (in life or sport), nutrition and diet play a significant role in attaining and maintaining success. Hyam works with clients to better understand their current eating habits, and explores ways of making changes in diet that will help in achieving their desired outcome. In addition to nutrition consultations, Hyam also designs a weekly schedule of exercise that includes what clients should do on their days away from training with her. This takes the guess work out of the overall training program.
Hyam has worked with clients of all ages and fitness levels. She has helped them meet various goals such as weight loss, improvements in flexibility, and range of motion, speed and agility, balance, strength, and endurance. She has also helped clients hasten their recovery from injuries, as well as prepared clients for races and events. Hyam helps clients find ways to make exercise part of a healthy lifestyle. Training with Hyam is always diverse, fun, safe, and something to look forward to!
Jumpstart Program
The Jumpstart program allows people to learn more about the science behind heart rate training and discover a way to train individually in a way that allows for big improvements in cardio and muscular fitness. We will discuss your goals for fitness and weight management before we begin. Your weight and body composition will be measured using a scale and calipers. Next, we will do a cardiovascular assessment test to discover what your personal max heart rate is, and what your aerobic and anaerobic endurance looks like as well as discover your ability to recover from intervals. From here we will have you execute some basic weight training exercises to failure, all the way recording this data so that we can re-test in 6 weeks to measure progress. Within a couple of days of your appointment we will provide you with a week of homework based on your test. The homework will be specific and in line with what you have access to and your personal goals taking into consideration your personal schedule, and limitations. Jumpstart programs allow people who work out individually ensure that they are staying on target and have some semblance of accountability and follow up.
