Hyam Hosny, Owner of Clay Fitness + Nutrition
Hyam has helped hundreds of people in the Washington DC area find their health potential through holistic nutrition and targeted training. Hyam moved to Charlottesville in the fall of 2009 and is excited to bring her passion for fitness and nutrition to Charlottesville.

As a competitive triathlete, and nutrition counselor, it’s hard to believe Hyam was 215 pounds and had a less than healthy relationship with food. As a graduate of The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, an ACE certified personal trainer, and a highly motivating instructor and lecturer, Hyam’s goal is to inspire people to integrate good nutrition and effective training into their busy lives. Hyam’s trademarked Results Cycling™ is a 12 week program that delivers highly effective training in a group setting along with nutrition counseling support and accountability. In addition to teaching a variety of formats in exercise, Hyam conducts classes on topics in cooking, health, nutrition, food intolerance’s, women’s health issues, event training, and more.

Hyam has been involved in athletics and exercise since her childhood. Competing in gymnastics for 8 years, running track in high school, and participating in various dance projects kept her physically fit throughout high school and college. Hyam has a Bachelor of Science in Business but left the corporate world after the birth of her two children. She then decided to pursue a career in fitness and nutrition-her true calling after struggling with significant weight and nutrition issues.
Hyam is a board certified Holistic Health Counselor through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) and graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, which offers a curriculum with an integrative approach to nutrition and health. As a certified holistic health counselor, Hyam strives to help clients make nutrition and lifestyle changes that boost energy, encourage weight loss, improve sports performance, and realize true health.

Expertise in fitness, nutrition, and mind/body connections has allowed Hyam to significantly impact and have long lasting, life changing effects on her clients’ lives.

Kendall Hommell, ACE Certified Personal Trainer
Kendall is a certified trainer by the American Council on Exercise and specializes in speed and agility. As an avid athlete and talented soccer player, she spent a year training at the prestigious IMG Bollettieri Academy along side many professional athletes. While at Bollettieri she also trained with the International Performance Institute where she was taught valuable sport specific training techniques. She went on to play Div. I soccer at FIU. In December, 2009 she spent a week in Tulum Mexico studying vinyasa yoga under Baron Baptiste. Her training runs for soccer have grown into a new passion. This past fall she ran and completed her first two ultra marathons. In the 50k she placed second and took ninth in the 50miler! She continues to extend her passion and knowledge for exercise through various workshops from yoga to plyometrics and stays up to date on cutting edge developments in the fitness field.

Laura Glassow, founder of Home for Dinner
Laura Glassow is the founder of Home for Dinner, a grassroots organization dedicated to helping consumers bring more local food into their lives by making informed eating and purchasing decisions. Laura previously worked for a healthcare consulting firm and taught high school, and holds a Master’s degree in English and Education. Throughout her adult life, by examining her relationship with food and eating, she realized there were many potential paths to her goal of moving away from agribusiness food and toward providing her family with local food — a healthier, more sustainable, and greener alternative. An avid gardener, Laura shares three plots with friends at Charlottesville Meadowbrook Community Garden. Along with her husband and two children, she is excited to start planning a backyard chicken coop, the next step in her family’s journey toward local food.

Grace Hays, Body Logic Therapeutics – in practice since 1995
Grace is a board Certified licensed Massage Therapist (Va #0019001463) with 15 years experience and continued education. In addition to her massage therapy training and various manual manipulation technique studies Grace has completed an associates degree in Natural Sciences focusing in chemistry, physiology, and human gross anatomy. She is currently working on a degree in Biochemistry.

Grace specializes in therapy for chronic pain relief, injury /surgery recovery aid, facial tension release (TMJ, migraine, eye strain), relief from digestive issues, gentle therapeutic massage and assisted stretching for children with special needs, stress alleviating relaxation massage, and prenatal massage. Grace utilizes gentle, highly effective neuromuscular modalities to include myofascial release, visceral manipulation, craniolsacral therapy, lymph stem, joint compression/ release, assisted/ resistance stretching, deep tissue massage, and acupressure. Grace enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities to help them achieve improved over all health, and physical ability. She consults with local health care providers and licensed herbal/ nutritional counselors to best serve her clients and provides assistance in insurance and flex-benefits billing. Grace is recommended by local physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, dentists, teachers, dance instructors, athletic trainers, and anyone who has experienced her work.

“My Massage Therapy practice can be described as osteopathic in nature in that I seek the origin of the client’s issue and consider the whole body including all of the systems that are involved or affected when determining the best plan of therapy. The therapy I provide is gentle and highly effective. Work into deeper muscular layers and organ tissues, is achieved through the patient application of somatic techniques (which can be described as gentle form of rolfing), visceral manipulation, and myofascial release not the “iron fist- brute force” approach. Tracey is a board Certified Holistic Health Counselor (CHHC) through the American
Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) & a graduate of the Institute for
Integrative Nutrition in NYC, which offers a curriculum with an integrative approach to
nutrition and health. Tracey strives to help clients make nutrition and lifestyle changes
that boost their understanding of how food affects their health and how to overcome diet
related diseases. She helps clients realize true health for themselves and their family.

Tracey is a dynamic speaker and conducts classes on topics such as cooking, health, life
balance and leadership. She is also certified as a Co-Active Coach and a Team Coach,
which has enabled her to work with many corporate executives as an Executive and Life
Coach. At home, Tracey is an active gardener and has recently installed a chicken coop
with 8 chickens in her yard. Her philosophy on food is keep it simple, keep it natural,
and never stop enjoying it.
